老子《道德经》经典语录

道可道，非常道名可名，非常名。

The divine law may be spoken of， but it is not the common law. Things may be named， but names are not the things.

天地不仁，以万物为刍狗圣人不仁，以百姓为刍狗。

Heaven and earth are ruthless， they treat everything as straw or dog. The sage is ruthless， he treats everyone as straw or dog.

上善若水，水善利万物而不争。

The highest good is like water Water benefits everything by giving without takingor contending.

金玉满堂，莫之能守。A houseful of gold and jade cannot be safeguarded.

信言不美，美言不信。Sincere words are not finefine words are not sincere.
